Compassion mental health treatment in Jefferson County, WI and virtually throughout Wisconsin by a licensed therapist.
Stepping Stones Psychotherapy is dedicated to creating a safe, respectful, and affirming environment where healing can begin one step at a time. With the support of a licensed therapist, we employ trauma-informed therapy and evidence-based approaches to help clients understand their experiences, strengthen relationships, and develop the skills necessary for lasting change, all focused on enhancing mental well-being.
You may be carrying things you haven't said out loud. You may be tired of being the strong one. You may be holding on to trauma, anxiety, sadness, grief, or experiences that still live in your mind and body, even when you try to move forward. You may simply know that something inside feels heavy.
Before techniques.
Before goals.
Before strategies, modalities, or treatment plans.
There is a relationship.
The most healing part of therapy with a licensed therapist is the experience of being truly seen, deeply heard, and accepted as you are while sitting with someone who remains steady and compassionate as you begin to face what feels hard. It means there is space for you—the strong parts, the hurting parts, the guarded parts, and the hopeful parts.
The therapeutic relationship becomes a steady place, a stepping stone, where your nervous system can begin to settle. In this trauma-informed therapy, trust is built slowly and respectfully. You are allowed to show up exactly as you are on that day. Connection is built gently, through consistency, warmth, and presence. And from that foundation, meaningful change becomes possible.
Starting the process can feel intimidating; however, reaching out can be the beginning of your mental well-being.

I'm Liz, an LCSW and Stepping Stones Psychotherapy is dedicated to creating a safe, respectful, and affirming environment where healing can begin one step at a time. I employ trauma-informed therapy and evidence-based approaches to help clients understand their experiences, strengthen relationships, and develop the skills necessary for lasting change, all focused on enhancing mental well-being.

As a licensed therapist specializing in mental well-being, I work virtually with adults throughout the state of Wisconsin. My expertise lies in providing trauma-informed therapy, which includes:
- Trauma-informed therapy for Trauma/Abuse/PTSD
- Birth and Medical Trauma
- Managing feelings of anxiety, stress, or emotional overwhelm
- Supporting those struggling with depression or navigating life transitions and major changes
- Addressing relationship or family challenges
- Women's issues
- Post-partum mood disorders
- Self-injury (DBT)
I am EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing) Certified and a Certified Clinical Trauma Professional (CCTP). Additionally, I offer clinical supervision for individuals with APSW and LPC-IT looking to achieve full clinical licensures in Wisconsin.

My approach to therapy as a licensed therapist is collaborative, supportive, relational, and tailored to your unique needs. I believe meaningful change in mental well-being happens when people feel safe, heard, and respected.
Together, we'll explore patterns that no longer serve you and build practical tools through trauma-informed therapy to help you move forward - one step at a time. Therapy isn't about 'fixing' you; it's about helping you reconnect with your strengths and values.
You don't need to have everything figured out to start therapy. Showing up is the first step.
